Justin Johnson, has been playing basketball for over 30 years with multiple all conference, scoring, shooting, and steals awards achieved in high school before coaching for nearly 13 years. Justin continued his career at the collegiate level in Nebraska having to leave early due to his mom having breast cancer. Justin wanted to stay close to the game while finishing his double major at MSU and chose to train basketball players locally founding Grind House Basketball Academy. He then migrated to coaching high school basketball for 4 years at 2 different schools. Justin left high school basketball transitioning to the AAU basketball scene after understanding that players don’t often get recruited from high school basketball in Colorado but instead club ball/AAU. Justin then helped coach with 3 different AAU organizations over the span of 9 years. After playing out of state for 7 years in a row he realized Colorado AAU teams were not cutting it. Each Colorado club/program had one or two good players compared to out of state teams that brought all-star teams comprised of multiple clubs to represent the state or area. To help put Colorado basketball players on the map, Justin went on a mission to find likeminded coaches that wanted to compete in higher tier tournaments and change the basketball culture in Colorado founding Hard2Guard Colorado.
